- Tapem recommends putting the butyl tape in a refrigerator for 2 hours before using it. This action will make butyl tape more sticky and flexible.
- Before applying Tapem Butyl Tape, please be sure that the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free.
- While applying the butyl tape on the surface, we do not recommend touching adhesive sides too much. Oils from hands can make the tape less sticky.
- Make sure that there are no air bubbles under the tape after the tape is applied. You can use the non-sticky side of the backing paper to press or rub the butyl tape to reduce air bubbles.
- Use the plastic knife to cut off the unneeded parts of the butyl tape. The knife is included in each packaging for free.
- Allow the tape to cure and dry with the backing paper on it for at least 120-180 minutes before any harsh conditions. If the tape is used for the sealing needs, this action is unneeded.
